Coach Matt Meyerl came to Plumas county to work on helicopter 512 for the Forest Service in 2014. In 2019, after a decade of working as a federal firefighter for the USFS, he left his career to pursue his passion of mountain bikes and teaching. His experience as a seasoned downhill mountain biker along with his years of being a professional first responder have elevated the Adventure Monkeys services to offer safe, world class instruction in one of the worlds premiere mountain bike destinations. Along with his fire credentials, Matt has certifications with the National Interscholastic Cycling Association so he can volunteer his time to coach Plumas counties Lost Sierra Mountain Bike Team. He also has certifications with National Outdoor Leadership School as a Wilderness First Responder and is First Aid/CPR and Epinephrine Auto-Injector certified. Along with his passion and professionalism as a cyclist, Matt also has a love of snow sports and has experience with Vail Resorts as a ski school instructor and has worked as a skating instructor teaching hockey to east coast youth.
Betterment, passion and fun is what we are striving for. It has been a hard year on families and kids everywhere and a couple hours with the Adventure Monkeys will make it a little easier for all of us!
